These soaps are formulated to have a creamy lather and be gentle on the skin. Oatmeal adds a little exfoliation while being very soothing to the skin. The primary ingredient are from a local source of fat, and almost all other ingredients are organic.
Some information…Most soaps today are made with palm oil as a main ingredient. Palm oil is a highly problematic ingredient responsible for millions of acres of deforestation in south Asian countries. In the past it’s been popularized due to its ability to create a very hard soap that isn’t drying to the skin at the same time. However the environmental cost for this small benefit is very steep indeed. I have chosen not to include palm oil as a rule to my soaps.
At the time I made the chocolate orange variety, I didn’t have a great cutting setup, so they are discounted for that reason.
